The Lantern Fox
In the heart of the forest, where the trees whispered bedtime secrets and fireflies blinked like tiny stars, lived a very special creature.
She was known as the Lantern Fox.
No one knew exactly where she came from, but every night, when the sky turned deep blue and the moon began to rise, a soft golden glow would appear between the trees.
That was her—her tail lit like a lantern, her paws silent as snow, her eyes warm like candlelight.
The Lantern Fox had a gentle job:
She guided children’s dreams.
When little ones tossed and turned, or had trouble falling asleep, the Lantern Fox would visit. She’d leave the forest, lantern-tail glowing, and glide through the night on paws made of starlight.
She tiptoed across rooftops, floated past windows, and curled near pillows—never waking a soul, only calming them with her warm glow.
One night, a boy named Leo couldn’t sleep.
He felt alone in the dark and missed the sound of his mum’s lullabies.
That’s when he saw it: a flicker of golden light outside his window. The Lantern Fox.
She didn’t speak, but her eyes said everything:
“You are safe. You are loved. And tonight, your dreams will shine.”
She touched her glowing tail to his windowpane, and golden light spilled gently into the room.
Leo yawned, his heart calm, and drifted into a deep, happy sleep.
In his dream, he walked beside the Lantern Fox through a sky painted with stars. They visited floating islands, danced with moonflowers, and listened to lullabies sung by glowing owls.
When morning came, Leo woke with a smile, and a soft golden feather lay beside his pillow.
The Lantern Fox had moved on, off to help another child sleep peacefully.
But every now and then, when the night is especially quiet and the stars twinkle just right, you might see her light glowing in the distance…
And if you do, don’t be afraid—she’s just making sure your dreams find their way home.
Goodnight, little one. The Lantern Fox is near.
