Starlight’s First Wish
Far beyond the clouds, past the moon’s glowing smile, lived a little star named Starlight. She was the tiniest star in the sky, but her heart was as big as the universe.
Each night, she twinkled beside her star friends—Shimmer, Spark, and Twinkle—watching over the world below. While the older stars chatted about comets and constellations, Starlight had a secret dream.
“I want to make a wish,” she whispered one night, her sparkle glowing just a little brighter.
“You mean grant a wish?” asked Spark with a giggle.
“No,” Starlight beamed, “make one of my own.”
The stars gasped! Stars were meant to shine, not wish. But the sky grew quiet, and the Moon leaned in with a silvery smile.
“Go ahead, little one,” she said gently. “Tonight, the sky listens.”
So, Starlight closed her eyes, shimmered softly, and made her very first wish.
“I wish I could bring sweet dreams to every sleepy child below.”
Suddenly, a gentle breeze lifted her glow, and her light floated down like a lullaby. It shimmered into windows, curled into blankets, and danced through the dreams of boys and girls everywhere.
Teddy bears giggled. Nightlights twinkled. Even the trees outside swayed to the rhythm of sleepy sighs.
When morning peeked over the hills, the children woke up smiling, as if they’d been hugged by the stars all night.
Back in the sky, Starlight twinkled with joy.
“Did it work?” she asked the Moon.
“Oh yes,” Moon smiled. “That was the sweetest wish the sky has ever heard.”
From that night on, Starlight made the same wish again and again. And every time, her gentle light brought calm and comfort to dreamers all over the world.
So, if you see a tiny star winking just before bed, that’s Starlight—sending you love, a lullaby, and a wish just for you.
Goodnight, little dreamer.
